Welcome! These are the terms that apply when you use the GFY website, read our newsletters, or submit a story to any of our publication series. By using any of these, you're agreeing to what's below.

Who we are

Go Fund Yourself (GFY) is a community championing financial transparency, run by Alice Tapper. Contact: community@gfy.co.uk.

What GFY is, and isn't

GFY shares personal finance information, stories, and commentary aimed at making money more accessible and less intimidating. We're not financial advisors. Nothing we publish is regulated financial advice. Always do your own research and consider speaking to a qualified financial advisor before making important financial decisions.

Story submissions

GFY runs publication series including GFY Confessions and Open Accounts, which feature first-person stories submitted by readers. If you submit a story, the Submission Terms shown on the submission form apply, alongside these Terms and our Privacy Policy. In summary: contributions are voluntary and anonymous; contributions are unpaid, except where a paid sponsor or brand partner is involved, in which case the contributor is notified, their permission is sought in advance, and a small fee is paid as a thank you; we may edit for clarity, brevity, and to correct errors; submissions should be written by you and not generated by AI; withdrawal is available at any point before publication; once published, the anonymised content forms part of the series and is not deleted.

Your behaviour

When engaging with GFY (commenting, messaging, replying) please be respectful. We moderate and may remove or block content or accounts that are abusive, harassing, or otherwise harmful to our community.

Intellectual property

All content published by GFY is owned by GFY or used with permission. You're welcome to share GFY content on social media and link to us freely. Please don't republish whole pieces without permission.

Contributor content

When you submit a story for publication, you grant GFY a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to publish, edit (within the scope set out in the Submission Terms), republish, and archive your anonymised content across GFY platforms.

Limitation of liability

GFY content is provided for general information and entertainment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we don't accept liability for any loss arising from reliance on our content.

Changes to these terms

We may update these from time to time. Continued use of GFY services after an update means you accept the updated version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
